Busan is set to host the Job Fair for International Students, connecting students to companies that offer the F-2-R regional specialized residency visa.

The job fair will be held on May 23 at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District, Busan.

International students with D-2 and D-10 visas, or those who want to obtain the F-2-R visa by working at Busan-based companies are welcome to attend.

Those with the D-3, D-4, E-6-2, E-8, E-9, E-10, G-1 and H-1 visas, which do not allow people to transition to the F-2-R visa, aren't eligible as the fair aims to specifically connect job seekers to the regional visa.

The F-2-R visa allows foreigners to reside in Korea for five years, mandating their residence and employment to specific areas designated by the government. Busan's Seo District, Dong District and Yeongdo District are among the designated areas, each with a visa quota of 40 this year.

Foreign nationals need to be currently employed, or have received a job offer within the designated visa districts to be eligible for the F-2-R. To help international students fulfill the requirement, 20 to 25 companies in Busan's three visa districts will be attending the job fair to hire international students through the regional visa.

A detailed list of companies attending will be announced on the job fair's website on May 10.

A briefing session explaining the F-2-R visa will also be held, with resume photo booths available for participants to use.
