Under the agreement, the two parties will use their joint expertise and knowledge to support researchers across the global scientific community to speed up polymerase chain reaction (PCR) diagnostic testing for various diseases.
Generally, PCR molecular diagnostics companies develop only a few diagnostic products annually. But by using the network of Springer Nature, the two companies will provide funding and technology to global scientists and experts in various fields, Seegene said.
Seegene's “syndromic quantitative PCR technologies” can simultaneously test 14 conditions that cause similar symptoms with a single tube.
Earlier this year, Seegene signed a strategic partnership with Microsoft to leverage its Azure AI platform in the development of PCR test kits.
“Together, we will work to advance the success of the SG OneSystemTM business and to realize ‘a world free of diseases,’” said Seegene CEO Chun Jong-yoon.
