McDonald’s Korea will resume selling French fries from Wednesday after halting sales of the side menu item last Thursday, citing supply chain issues.
The fast food chain said on Tuesday that stores will successively start selling fries again from Wednesday. This means customers will also be able to order combo meals that come with fries.
Until supply becomes completely stabilized, customers will be able to select from four different side menu items -- McNuggets, cheese sticks, coleslaw and McWings -- as part of the combo meal in place of the fries without paying extra.
McDonald’s had halted its French fry sales last week to ensure the quality of its product after its supplier provided frozen potatoes that were not up to quality standards. The fast food chain cited an “unexpected issue within [their] supply chain” in an announcement on Thursday.
Customers were unable to purchase fries as a side or as part of a combo, and were given a free medium-sized cola with burger purchases.
