Inha University celebrated the first graduating class of its dual degree program with Azerbaijan, announcing scholarships opportunities to outstanding graduates.

A total of 61 students graduated with dual degrees from Inha University and Azerbaijan's Baku Engineering University, according to Inha University on Monday.

The students are the inaugural graduating class of the INHA-BEU Dual Degree Program (DDP), which started in 2020.

The dual degree program is annually open to around 100 Baku Engineering University students studying IT, electronic engineering, electrical engineering and civil engineering. It allows students to study at their home university for three years and then study at Inha University for their final year, earning degrees from both Baku Engineering University and Inha University.

Apart from the 61 students who graduated, there are another 320 students currently part of the dual degree program.

Inha University also announced it will be providing scholarships to select students.

The university signed a letter of intent with Baku Engineering University to offer scholarships to outstanding students who graduated from the dual degree program, if they continue their graduate studies at Inha University.

Inha University will also help the Azerbaijan university to train educational professionals and researchers.

"The inaugural graduating class of INHA-BEU DDP was able to graduate after going through unprecedented situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic," said Cho Myeong-woo, president of Inha University. "With Baku Engineering University, we will do our best to foster talented students like the DDP graduates."
