Changwon National University and LG Electronics have launched the LGE-CWNU Glocal University Technology Center to enhance career opportunities for graduate students.

The opening ceremony for the LGE-CWNU Glocal University Technology Center was held on Thursday at Changwon National University's campus in Changwon, South Gyeongsang.

The new center will facilitate joint research projects between the university and LG Electronics' Air Solution Lab. In return, LG Electronics will offer employment opportunities to the graduate students involved in these projects.

Changwon National University will collaborate with the Air Solution Lab to revise the curriculum of relevant majors and develop new programs focused on technologies in demand by both the lab and LG Electronics.

This initiative is part of the Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) project, which encourages local governments to partner with universities to enhance the educational system.

South Gyeongsang plans to evaluate the effectiveness of this partnership in promoting student retention in the region and aims to foster more collaborations between local companies and universities.

"Through our RISE model, which is designed to nurture regional talent, we will fully support efforts to strengthen partnerships between local universities and companies," said Park Wan-su, governor of South Gyeongsang.
