Tesla CEO Elon Musk to meet Samsung's Lee and Hyundai's Chung in Paris this weekend

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is scheduled to meet with two of Korea's biggest business tycoons — Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung — this weekend in Paris, according to a local media report on Thursday.
 
If the meeting takes place, it will be the first time the three have gathered together.

Spokespeople from Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Group were both unable to confirm the report.
 
Lee has met with Musk several times in the past, with the most recent official meeting occurring at Samsung Electronics' chip research center in Silicon Valley in May 2023. Both Lee and Musk also attended a luncheon hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron on July 25 in Paris.  
 
Chung has not previously met Musk, according to available records. The two heads are from competing companies.
 
Chung is currently in Paris as the chairman of the Korea Archery Association for the 2024 Paris Olympics.  
 
The upcoming gathering has reportedly been organized by Samsung chief Lee, with both Chung and Musk accepting the invitation.
 
The three executives are speculated to discuss topics such as semiconductors for the automobile industry and batteries for EVs.
