NMIXX is not afraid to “stick out” with its unique blend of genres in its upcoming third EP “Fe3O4: Stick Out” set for release on Monday evening.

The EP comes seven months after the girl group’s most recent EP “Fe3O4: Break,” which was released on Jan. 15. "Stick Out" is the second installment of the girl group’s ongoing “Fe3O4” series.

“Our last EP and its lead track ‘Dash’ were about breaking limitations and prejudice,” said member Haewon through Monday's press release. “This new EP is about respecting, supporting and standing with outcasts that ‘stick out.’”

Lead track of the new EP, “See that?,” fuses country music with old school hip-hop, according to NMIXX's agency JYP Entertainment. The tracks is in a similar vein to “Dash,” which fused pop punk with old school hip-hop.

“NMIXX does music where everything fuses together,” said Haewon. “It is like the color black, which is what you get when every color is mixed together. Black skies make the stars shine brighter, and I think that is what we do to the different genres of music we hold together.”

“The choreography for ‘See that?’ is the most difficult out of all the lead tracks we have ever prepared,” said member Jiwoo. “We practiced singing while dancing and jumping around. After countless times singing like that, I think our live performances have become more natural."

The EP includes five additional tracks: “Sickuhh” featuring rapper Kid Milli, “Red light sign, but we go,” “Beat Beat,” “Moving On” and “Love Is Lonely.”

“My favorite song was ‘Beat Beat’,” said member Sullyoon. “You can hear our diverse vocal range over the bouncing beat.”

“'Love is Lonely’ is another track I want to recommend,’” said member Bae. “It is a hazy, heavy-hearted and affectionate track about meeting each other after wandering through a journey with seemingly no end."

NMIXX will hold its second fan concert titled “NMIXX Change Up: Mixx Lab” at Jangchung Arena in Jung District, central Seoul, from Oct. 4 to 6. The fan concert comes a year after the girl group’s last fan concert “NMIXX Change Up: Mixx University” held in October last year. A fan concert refers to an event that is larger than a fan meet and greet but smaller than a full-fledged concert.

“To be honest, I wished we could have done more in our first fan concert,” said Jiwoo. “We intend to show everything with the second one. We are planning to execute every concept we have, so please look forward to it.”
