Critically acclaimed film 'Inside Men' to get series adaptation starring Song Kang-ho

The acclaimed film "Inside Men" (2015) will be adapted into a series featuring veteran actor Song Kang-ho.
 
The series is currently in the pre-production stage, with plans to begin production next year, according to the distributor Hive Media Corp. It has not been disclosed which platform will host the series.

Written and directed by Woo Min-ho based on the webtoon “The Insiders," the political action thriller received numerous accolades, including Best Film at the Grand Bell Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards, Blue Dragon Awards and the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in 2016.

 
The upcoming series will be directed by Mo Wan-il, who won Best Director for “The World of the Married” in 2020, and written by Lee Ki-cheol, known for his work on hit films like “Escape from Mogadishu” (2021) and “The Thieves” (2012). 
 
The series will explore corruption within Korean society, and Song will portray Lee Kang-hee, a character who was originally an editor at a prominent conservative newspaper in the film.

 
Song Kang-ho made his screen debut with “The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well” (1996) and has since starred in numerous successful films, including “The Face Reader” (2013), “The Throne” (2015), A Taxi Driver” (2017) and “Parasite” (2019). He recently won the Best Actor Award for his latest performance in Disney’s “Uncle Samsik” (2024) at the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2024.
