'I, the Executioner' continues its reign in box office for fourth week

Action thriller film "I, the Executioner" has held onto the top spot at the local box office for four consecutive weeks.
 
The film surpassed over 7 million cumulative viewers in theaters nationwide as of Sunday, according to the Korea Box Office Information System.

Released on Sept. 13, the film attracted over 226,000 viewers from Friday to Sunday, outperforming “Joker: Folie à Deux” and the romance film “Love in the Big City,” which garnered 149,500 and 120,600 audiences, respectively, during the same period.  
 
As of Monday morning, more than 25,900 reservations have been made for “I, The Executioner,” placing it first in presale tickets. Some 20,500 reservations were made for “Love in the Big City” featuring Kim Go-eun, and mystery-thriller “You Will Die In 6 Hours” followed with 17,300 reservations.
 
A sequel to the "Veteran" (2015), “I, The Executioner” follows veteran detective Seo Do-cheol, played by Hwang Jung-min, and rookie detective Park Sun-woo, portrayed by actor Jung Hae-in, as they chase after a new villain. This time, the duo tracks a serial killer who taunts law enforcement and plunges the country into chaos.
