YouTuber Park We and singer Song Ji-eun hold star-studded wedding in Gangnam

YouTuber Park We and singer Song Ji-eun held their wedding ceremony on Wednesday in the Gangnam neighborhood of southern Seoul.

Officiated by entertainer Jun Hyun-moo, the wedding was filled with local celebrities, including singer In Sooni, who gave a congratulatory performance for the couple. The wedding was held outdoors.

"The only reason I didn't fall into despair after being diagnosed with paralysis 10 years ago was because of God," Park said, clad in his tuxedo at the wedding.

"And 10 years later today, I'm only grateful for the gift of my companion. I vow in front of everyone to love God's daughter, Song Ji-eun, forever."

Song also emphasized her religious beliefs in an Instagram post uploaded on Tuesday, a day before the wedding.

"The biggest certainty in my life — to be with oppa [a Korean term, often affectionate, for an older male, in this case, Park We]," wrote Song. "Love healed and perfected so much in every step we took toward our starting line. We now wish to become the little church to share and spread the love we've received. We hope you congratulate us on that first step."

Song and Park, aged 34 and 37 respectively, announced their relationship through Instagram posts last December, both emphasizing each other's devotion to one another and their faith.

Park became paralyzed from the neck down due to a 3-meter (10-foot) fall he suffered in May 2014, but partially recovered function in his upper body. Rather than letting it defeat him, Park started a YouTube channel called "Weracle" in 2019 to encourage disabled people like him to never give up.

Weracle is a combination of "We," Park's name, and "miracle." The channel has 868,000 subscribers as of August.

Song debuted in 2009 as a member of the girl group Secret, known for songs like “Madonna” (2010) and “Shy Boy” (2011). She has also worked as an actor and solo artist. Last year, she joined Park's company, WeracleFactory, which Park founded in April 2018 and currently manages only Park and Song.

The couple officially registered their marriage with the Yongsan District Office on Sept. 25.
