YouTuber Park We and singer Song Ji-eun register marriage ahead of wedding ceremony

YouTuber Park We and singer Song Ji-eun have officially registered their marriage.

Park made the announcement in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Weracle, on Monday.

“We came to the Yongsan District Office to register our marriage,” Park said in the video.

According to the video, the couple registered their marriage on Sept. 25, just 13 days before their wedding ceremony, which is set for Wednesday in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul.

“We wanted to register earlier, but we finally did it now because we didn’t have time before,” said Park.

“It feels strange,” Song added. “It finally feels like I’m getting married.”

District officials congratulated the couple on their marriage.

Song, 34, and Park, 37, publicly announced their relationship on Instagram last December, both emphasizing their devotion to each other and their shared faith.

“I’ve met someone who came into my life like a gift,” Song wrote on Instagram on Dec. 21, 2023. “Please support us and keep us in your prayers as I start my life with someone who has such a positive attitude toward life and knows how to love people.”

Park also shared on the same day that he had met “someone with a warm and caring heart.”

Park was paralyzed from the neck down after a 3-meter (10-foot) fall in May 2014 but has since regained some function in his upper body. He started his YouTube channel in 2019 to inspire people with disabilities not to give up. The channel’s name, “Weracle,” combines “We,” Park’s name, and “miracle.” The channel has 895,000 subscribers as of October.

Song debuted in 2009 as a member of the girl group Secret, known for songs like “Madonna” (2010) and “Shy Boy” (2011). She has also worked as an actor and solo artist. Last year, she joined Park's company, WeracleFactory, which Park founded in April 2018 and currently manages only Park and Song.
