DPP Officially Launched

The launch of the Democratic People's Party (DPP) was officially announced on Tuesday morning at the Assembly Hall of the National Assembly building.
The DPP named Cho Soon as its chief representative, Lee Su-song as resident adviser and elected members of congress to exectuive posts: Kim Yoon-whan, Kim Sang-hyong, Lee Ki-taek, Chang Ki-pyo, Shin Sang-woo, Kim Kwang-il, Park Chan-jong, and Ho Hwa-pyong.
The mission statement of the party was read, "We will seek for a third way of collaboration between the conservative and revolutionary. We will take over the leading opposition party position in the 2000 General Election, so the DPP will be the revolutionizing source of the present political status quo."
The party also stated that all nominees for any future official positions will be selected through vote by its party members.
