Justice Ministry to Mitigate the Arrest of Strikers
The Ministry of Justice(MOJ) announced its yearly policy outlines on February 18.According to the new plan, the MOJ will minimize arresting employees who engage in strikes or work actions and punish severely any illegal layoffs by employers.
Justice Minister Park Sang Chun stated, 'In the process of the current negotiations between labor and management, the government will induce management to abide by the labor standard law.'
Meanwhile, the MOJ decided that it will allow arrested suspects to wear their own clothes, instead of prison garb, when they appear in court. The MOJ will also draft legislation that will allow the existence of private prisons in order to set up private prisons by the yar 2002.
