Prosecutors Focus on Corruption Scandals

The Supreme Prosecutor's Office on March 3 started an investigation of Won Chol Hee, the former chairman of the National Agricultural Co-operative Federation.
Prosecutors suspect that Won received substantial bribes related to the Federation's dealings.
It is also concentrating on allegations that Won not only embezzled funds but he collected and managed the money used for lobbying politicians and civil servants.
Prosecutors reportedly have evidence that Song Chan Won, the former chairman of the Stock-Raisers' Association, also engaged in bribery and embezzlement.
