&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Take care of our common property

I am a third grade student in elementary school. I do not own a cellular phone because I am very young. I had to use a public phone when I was late returning home while spending time with my friends. I did not want my mother to worry.

My friends and I went to a phone booth but it was very dirty with cigarettes everywhere. Some people threw their trash in the booth. The smell was also very bad. I moved to another booth to find the handset broken and hanging by its wire.

This scene made me wonder what kind of people would have done such things.

Phone booths are public facilities and I think that people should use them with care. I also think that adults should show a good example so that we follow the right path. I hope people will respect public facilities as if they were their own.
