Korean dramas are a hit in Vietnam

As the coronavirus outbreak keeps people sticking close to home all across Asia, Korean dramas are becoming more popular in Vietnam.

According to Vietnamese press reports, on the Top 10 list of Netflix drama series in Vietnam, seven out of 10 were Korean shows.

JTBC drama seires “Itaewon Class” took the top spot of the most-watched list, and tvN’s “Crash Landing on You” and “Hi Bye, Mama!” followed in second and third places.

Cable channel tvN’s “Reply 1988,” “Hotel Del Luna” and “Memories of the Alhambra” took fifth, sixth and ninth place. SBS’s “Vagabond” finished off the list in 10th.

Tuoi Tre, a Vietnamese daily newspaper reported that it “wasn’t surprising that Korean dramas would sweep the top 10, as they have been popular in Vietnam for a long time.”
