Ruling and Opposition Party to Dissipate the Acrimonious Rancor in Politics
The ruling and opposition parties are trying to dissipate the acrimonious atmosphere permeating the National Assembly before the regular session draws to a close.According to Yonhap News Agency, President Kim Dae-jung reportedly will explain his ideas on how to resolve the political impasse to the 50 members of the ruling National Congress for New Politics(NCNP) including its acting president, Lee Man-sop, at a luncheon meeting on December 1.
Lee Hoe-chang, leader of the opposition Grand National Party(GNP), will likely suggest to the ruling party that it ceases the contentious and acrimonious political conflicts between them in order to bring the political process out of its current deadlock.
Therefore, talks between President Kim and Mr. Lee are likely to come about sooner rather than later.
