[Letter to the editor]Foreign senior citizens should ride free

When I go out with my friends in Seoul they can ride the subway trains for free because they are over 65 years of age.
I am over 65 too, but I have to buy a ticket and pay for the ride because I am regarded as a “foreigner.” The cost of the ride is not an issue, as I can well afford it. However, the discrimination is very troubling.
I have lived in Seoul as a “foreigner”for 40 years and pay taxes here just as my Korean friends do, but they can ride the subway trains for free and I cannot.
Something is wrong. People should be treated fairly and equally no matter where they come from.
