More than a hundred college students participating in a project called “The Korean Maritime Territory Exploration” toss their hats yesterday at Cheonggye Plaza, in central Seoul. The students will explore Korean maritime ecology for 13 days from Baengnyeong Island through Jeju Island to the Dokdo islets, covering a distance of 1,777 kilometers (1,104 miles). Nearly 3,000 students applied for the program, but only 104 were selected. Seven of these students are from Japan, China and Taiwan. By Oh Jong-taek
