Expats offered free tours of Seoul sights

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide free day tours of the city for expats who want to know more about the capital. The tours will be held on three dates: Sept. 24, Oct. 15 and Nov. 19.

The tour program will be open to 150 expats. A volunteer will accompany participants in case of emergency, but there will be no tour guide.

Participants can choose from three self-guided tour courses: a bike ride along the Han River and a picnic at Haneul Park; a visit to Seoul Forest and a water taxi ride on the Han River; or a walk along the old city walls surrounding the palaces in central Seoul.

In exchange for their participation, tour participants may be asked to take photographs or perform similar tasks. All tour costs, such as transportation and lunch, will be paid by the government.

To apply, go to www.addicted2seoul.co.kr. Applications must be filed three days before the desired tour date.
