Actress charged with drunk driving
Former beauty queen and actress Kwon Min-joong was charged on Dec. 7 with a DUI.According to Gangnam District Police the actress was booked without being detained for the offence after she was found to be intoxicated after hitting the rear bumper of a parked car near Do-san Park in Shinsa-dong, Southern Seoul. The incident took place at 2:30 a.m on Dec. 7th.
The thirty-five year old actress’ blood-alcohol level was reported to be 0.138 percent, which is enough for her license to be revoked. Police said Kwon was drinking with friends at a pub in Cheongdam-dong and had finished a bottle of soju prior to driving.
Kwon rose to fame by winning the “Miss Korean Ilbo” title at a Miss Korea beauty pageant in 1996. Since then the beauty queen has featured in TV shows and movies such as “Two Cops 3” and “If the Sun Rises in the West.”
