IU tops singing room rankings
Teen singer IU’s undying popularity has even changed the nation’s most popular songs at the noraebang (Korean singing room). Kumyoung, one of the leading manufacturers of karaoke machine, released a list of the most popular songs of the year on Dec. 22.
According to the list, IU’s upbeat song “Good Day” topped the chart by pushing aside “I Have a Lover” by Lee Eun-mee, which has stayed on top for the past six years. IU’s two other songs “Someday” and “Nagging,” where she paired up with 2AM member Seulong, also took the 59th and 64th spots, respectively.
Other beloved songs of the year by noraebang visitors are “For You” by Im Jae-bum, which came in second, and Lee Eun-mee’s “I Have a Lover” took the third spot.
Meanwhile, three of Hur Gak’s songs made the list. They are “Happy Me” in fourth, “Always” in seventh, and “Run Through the Sky” in ninth places. Hur was the winner of the second season of “Super Star K,” a Korean version of American Idol.
