While in Vietnam to promote his drama “My Princess,” actor Song Seung-hun attended a fund-raiser for Vietnamese children that raised a total of $51,857.

“Children, whether from Vietnam or Korea, are the hope of our future,” Song said at the Jan. 7 event. “I hope that through events like this one, I will be able to help children in need and give them hope for the
future.”

The star touched down in Vietnam on Jan. 6, and the next day, he and his co-star, Kim Tae-hee, attended an event by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children.

The event was attended by some 200 VIP guests, who paid anywhere from between $80 to $100 to purchase items and outfits from the Korean drama. Costumes worn by Song and Kim were sold to the highest bidders. A total of $51,857 was raised by the two Hallyu stars, and the proceeds went to the NFVC.

“My Princess” aired in Korea in January 2011, and the cast held a Christmas concert for their Japanese fans in Tokyo on Dec. 17. The popular drama is set to be broadcast in Vietnam from Jan. 17.
