KARA awarded at the Asia Model Festival Awards
Girl group KARA, actress Choi Ji-woo and Chinese actor Gu Juji were awarded the “Asia Star Award” at the seventh annual Asia Model Festival Awards.The event, hosted by the Korean Model Association, was held on Jan. 18 at Olympic Park in Seoul. The festival is held with the purpose of protecting the rights and interests of the models as well as the healthy development of the model industry while cultivating affiliation with the beauty industry.
This year’s theme was “Asia is One” and it attracted a lot of high profile celebrities from a total of 15 Asian nations. Models, singers, actors from nations such as China, Japan, Korea and Thailand were present at the event.
Actor Park Hae-il was also awarded the “Asia Special Award” while actor Jo Dong-hyeok from the drama Brain (2011) and model-turned actress Cha Ye-ryun from the drama Royal Family (2011) were awarded the “Beautiful Brand Federation Popularity Award.”
Other celebrities to be recognized for their popularity and beauty were performers Beast, Jay Park, MBLAQ, A Pink, and IU; actors Lee Jung-jin and Jung Il-woo; and actresses Kim Hyo-jin and Son Eun-seo, to name a few.
