Girls’ Generation to appear on two U.S. talk shows

K-pop phenomenon Girls’ Generation is set to appear on two popular American talk shows in the coming month.

The girls will appear on “Late Night with David Letterman” on Jan. 31 and on the morning show “Live with Kelly” on Feb. 1. Both appearances were arranged to promote the band’s third album “The Boys,” which was released in December.

“The David Letterman show is one of the top three talk shows in the United States, and ‘Live with Kelly’ is the most-watched morning talk show in its time slot,” a representative from SM Entertainment said. “Girls’ Generation appearing on these top shows is an incredible achievement, and as far as we know, the band is the first Korean group to appear on a U.S. talk show.”

Girls’ Generation released a special edition of “The Boys” in the United States on Jan. 17.

Two days before that, the nine-member girl group had entertained their fans in Hong Kong in the group’s first solo concert there.
