Min-jun

Kim Jun-su is no more. Fans of 2PM will have to get used to a new name: Min-jun.

The artist has officially changed his name at the request of his family.

“Dear fans, due to my family’s urging, I’ve decided to change my name to Min-jun,” Kim tweeted.

The boy band member, who is also active as a solo artist, said that he will keep his stage name, Jun.K, when performing solo.

Previously, JYP Entertainment’s in-house composer and a few friends referred to Jun-su as Min-jun.

Portal Web sites like Naver.com have already made the change to Kim’s profile.

The 2PM star is active both at home and abroad on his own. In March, his song “Alive” topped Japan’s most popular mobile phone ringtone chart, Recochoku.

Along with the name change, Kim has a few busy months ahead with his group as 2PM launches its fifth official Japanese EP “Masquerade” on Nov. 14.

The EP has already topped the preorder chart on the Tower Records Web site.
