Yoon Sang-hyun heads to CubaActor Yoon Sang-hyun of the SBS drama “Secret Garden” is making an official visit to Cuba to promote Korean culture and entertainment. He is the first Korean entertainment celebrity to visit the country.
He left Incheon International Airport with officials from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency yesterday. He will be appointed as an honorary ambassador to introduce Korean culture and have a signing ceremony for his Cuban fans.
Yoon rose to prominence in Cuba for his dramas “Take Care of the Young Lady” and “Queen of Housewives,” which was originally aired in 2009 in Korea. Another big drama that Yoon starred in, “Secret Garden,” is also scheduled to air in Cuba soon.
“As I am visiting the country for the first time, I’m excited and also nervous as I am representing Korea,” he reportedly said prior to his departure. “I’ll try my best to leave a good impression of Korea and induce more interest in Korean culture.”
