Leessang’s Gary goes solo
Gary of the hip-hop duo Leessang is going solo, his first individual effort since the group debuted in 2002.Gary, whose Korean name is Kang Hee-gun, will release a mini-album on Jan. 15, with music that he has produced himself.
“It’s a departure from the music he made as part of Leessang, bringing out a different musical character that is all Gary,” said his agency, the Leessang Company, yesterday.
“As he produced all the songs on this solo album and he collaborated with hip-hop rookies to make his lyrics appeal more to the younger generation, the new album will be worth waiting for.”
Since the group has not released any albums over the past two years, since their eighth full-length album came out in May 2012, fans are said to be excited about the new album.
