The song passed 1.8 billion views in October 2013, and at this rate it could surpass the two billion mark within this year.
“Gangnam Style,” which was released in 2012 July, is the most watched video in YouTube history and was the first to pass one billion views.
“Gentleman,” the follow-up track by Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, has received more than 600 million YouTube views since it was released in April 2013, making it the most viewed video of last year.
The 36-year-old singer is said to be nearly ready to release a new album, featuring American rapper Snoop Dog and K-pop star G-Dragon.
