The Chinese adaptation of MBC’s entertainment show “Daddy, Where Are You Going?” is enjoying high viewer ratings in China.

MBC exported the show to Hunan Television of China, the second most watched channel behind the state television network CCTV.

The Chinese version enjoyed an average viewer rating of 4.3 percent, which is considered very high, given that less than five shows surpass a viewer rating of 1 percent per year.

“The show has helped families across the mainland to communicate and dwell on the roles of fathers,” said the Chinese chief producer.

The Chinese broadcaster even expanded the show further, releasing mobile games with characters of the TV show and adapting the show into a film.

As a result, the broadcaster made more than 100 billion won ($9.32 million).
