Ha to star in fashion biopic
It seems like actor Ha Jung-woo is the busiest figure in the Korean film scene this year. According to local media reports yesterday, the actor, painter and filmmaker will team up with director Son Young-sung, whom he worked with in his 2011 film “The Client.”The project is based on the life of pioneering Korean designer Andre Kim (1935-2010), who paved the way in the local fashion industry in 20th-century Korea.
In order to appreciate the late Kim’s contributions, Ha and Son plan to depict the challenges he faced as the first male fashion designer in the country.
In the meantime, Ha is readying the release of the film “Kundo: Age of the Rampant,” in which he plays a butcher who takes revenge against corrupt government officials of 19th-century Joseon Dynasty.
