In order to welcome the new decade, Everland Resort is preparing for its 2020 New Year countdown on Dec. 31.

2020 is the year of the rat, which is the first out of the 12 zodiac animal signs, and this year’s countdown show is part of the 2020 Begin Again campaign at Everland to add more attractions to enjoy.

The highlight of the event is the countdown show at the Four Seasons Garden Special Stage.

The countdown will begin 2,020 seconds before 2020 on the screen of the Ferris wheel.

When the clock strikes midnight, fireworks will go off and paint the sky, marking the start of 2020.

A total of 16,000 fireworks will be shot up in the sky, triple the normal amount of fireworks used.

At 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., concerts by Hong Dae-kwang will be held at the Four Seasons Garden Special Stage.

The Singing Angels Children’s Choir will also perform at 8:20 p.m.

Indoors, the Bling Bling Winter Concert will be held at 9:00 p.m. at the Grand Stage.

The Bling Bling Winter Concert features vocalists and musicians performing songs from the soundtracks of famous animated films in anticipation for the New Year.

All of the special concerts held on Dec. 31 will be available for free.

Due to the 2020 New Year countdown show, the park will remain open until 1:00 a.m.

For people returning home, shuttle buses to the Gangnam area, Suwon, Yongin and Bundang will be available until 1:30 a.m.
