The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosts the online ’Trip to K-pop“ concert series on Thursday 7 p.m. [MINISTRY OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM]

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism kicks off a series of online K-pop concerts that will run from Tuesday to Thursday to allow K-pop fans to keep up with their favorite acts while they are stuck at home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Culture Ministry, in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca) and Content Korea Lab, will host the concert titled “Trip to K-pop” everyday at 7 p.m. through various online platforms including Naver V Live, U+ Idol Live app, Kocca’s official YouTube channel as well as the TV channels SBS MTV and SBS F!L.

The concert will run for 80 minutes live and will also air on 20 different TV channels across Asia.

The roster includes popular K-pop musicians iKON, Soran, Bibi, Natty, April, Kim Jae-hwan, Daybreak, Hong Isaac, Oh My Girl, Balming Tiger, Samuel Seo, Martin Smith and KARD. Some of the acts will also talk with fans through the U+ Idol Live app.

“We hope that this online concert provides an opportunity for music artists, who are struggling amidst the Covid-19 outbreak due to decreased opportunities to perform, to restart their performances,” the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the Culture Ministry has been co-hosting a series of online concerts for indie singers along with the Record Label Industry Association of Korea since May 6. The shows will run until May 28.

Concert schedules can be found on the website of Xindie Ticket.
