Dong-A Pharmaceutical is continuously striving to survive in this unprecedented crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic.
The company plans to increase its business portfolio to reduce uncertainty provoked by the virus outbreak.
Last year, Dong-A Pharmaceutical launched a dermatological cosmetic brand called Fation to actively enter the cosmetics market. Fation is a compound word of the Latin word fati, which means “destiny,” and the English word on, as in “lights on.” From this word, the company wants to convey a message to its consumers that the product will “awaken the natural beauty of healthy skin and help it beautifully shine full of confidence.”
Dong-A Pharmaceutical focuses on creating cosmetics with dermatology as their top priority. Its products present solutions for various types of skin which can eventually clear up customers’ worries.
In addition, the company introduced a health supplements brand to meet the needs of the consumers.
This year, it launched a brand called Minimax Jungle, which is especially designed for children. Minimax Jungle products contain only the necessary nutrients children should take, and chemical additives such as synthetic fragrance and sugar substitutes have been minimized.
Products such as Circulan Alpha, which can improve blood circulation and memory, and Circulan Omega-3, which can be helpful in improving the health of the eye, have also been introduced.
Dong-A Pharmaceutical also opened an online mall called “:Dmall” to boost sales during the virus outbreak. By providing an “untact” method of shopping, the company hopes to deal with the crisis effectively.
Untact is a portmanteau of the prefix “un” and contact, meaning “no contact.”
The mall provides not only an opportunity to purchase various health brands that the company creates, but also helpful content and information shoppers can enjoy.
“:Dmall is a special online mall which lets consumers experience interesting content and buy the products they need,” said an official from Dong-A Pharmaceutical. “We will do our utmost to hear the voices of our customers and eventually become a leader among health brand malls.”
