Filmmaker Kim Ki-duk, who recently lost 1-billion-won ($897,000) damages suits he filed against a female actor and a local television broadcaster over claims that he sexually assaulted the actor, appealed against the court decision on Monday.

According to local media reports, his lawyers filed the appeal to the Seoul Western District Court on Monday. Kim also filed an additional 100-million-won damages suit against two staff members of MBC’s “PD Note.”

“[I] initially filed suit against the broadcaster, but am raising further claims against the producers who aired false information,” Kim said.

On the episodes aired in March and August 2018, “PD Note” gathered statements from victims who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Kim.

Kim filed damages suits worth 1 billion won against the actor and MBC last March, both of which were dismissed by the court last month.
