Megabox to raise ticket prices for most moviegoers
Megabox will raise ticket prices from Nov. 23 as part of ongoing attempts to make its business viable in the middle of the pandemic.
The price of a 2-D ticket for an adult will be 12,000 won ($10.80) on weekdays and 13,000 won on weekends. Tickets to special screenings with either better seats or sound systems have been increased by an average of 1,000 won.
The price increase will differ depending on the location of theaters and timetables.
Some of the cinema chain's premium screenings have not been affected by the price hike. Prices for elderly customers, children, police, firefighters and people with impairments also remain unchanged.
