The first shipment of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccines rolled out Wednesday ahead of a free nationwide inoculation program that starts Friday, which the prime minister described as a “step toward returning to daily life.”

금요일에 전국적으로 실시되는 무료 예방접종을 앞두고 수요일 아스트라제네카 코로나19 백신 수송이 시작됐다. 국무총리는 “일상 복귀 첫발”이라고 표현했다.

The initial batch of AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured by SK Bioscience left its factory in Andong, North Gyeongsang in a refrigerated truck Wednesday morning.

수요일 오전 SK 바이오사이언스가 생산한 아스트라제네카 백신 첫 물량이 냉동트럭에 실려 경북 안동 공장에서 출하됐다.

It was escorted by a military and police motorcade to a logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi. SK Bioscience is a contract manufacturer of the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine, the first to be authorized in Korea.

군경 차량들이 수송 트럭을 경기 이천 물류센터까지 호위했다. SK 바이오사이언스는 영국-스웨덴 제약회사 아스트라제네카의 코로나19 백신의 계약 제조업체이다. 아스트라제네카 백신은 한국에서 승인 받은 최초 코로나19 백신이다.

Starting Thursday, vaccines for 780,000 people, or 1.57 million doses, will be delivered to some 1,900 nursing homes, high-risk facilities and public health centers nationwide. Military aircraft will deliver them to remote areas such as Jeju and Ulleung
islands.

목요일부터 78만명 분(1백57만 회분) 백신이 전국 1천9백여 양로원, 고위험 시설, 보건소로 배달된다. 제주도와 울릉도 등 외진 곳에는 군용기로 배달한다.

양로원, 요양병원, 고위험 시설 거주자(65세 이하)와 보건 인력을 대상으로 금요일 오전 9시에 백신 접종이 실시된다.
