CEO Bang Si-hyuk of HYBE, the entertainment firm behind K-pop phenomenon BTS, stepped down from his position as CEO to focus on his role as the chairman of the board of directors, HYBE announced late Thursday.

That day, Hybe announced its plans to reorganize the company, saying it will “place executive leadership in various positions to officially kick off globalization."

Bang will no longer be CEO, but he will continue to participate in key business decisions and will also continue his role as a music producer.

He will be succeeded by Park Ji-won, head of Hybe's headquarter operations and management, who has been in charge of HYBE’s domestic businesses.
