In-house production studio Playlist, famous for being home to popular web drama series that go viral on YouTube, is developing another web series in the noir genre revolving around teen crime.

Titled “Juvenile Delinquents” (translated), the story starts off with the 18-year-old protagonist Da-jeong discovering a field of marijuana. According to the studio, the series is to tackle social issues such as drug abuse to accentuate the universal emotions of love and friendship.

The story is being scripted by Jung Soo-yoon behind “Ending Again” (2020) and “In-Seoul” (2019) and directed by Jo Yong-ik, who worked as a storyboard artist in films such as “A Taxi Driver” (2017) and “Coinlocker Girl” (2015).

Two seasons of “Juvenile Delinquents” are being produced simultaneously and will be released in next year on KT’s streaming platform Seezn.

Playlist is one of the first production studios to focus on creating web drama series, and is behind productions of “A-Teen” (2018-19), “Just One Bite” (2018-19), “Love Playlist” (2017-19) and “XX” (2020).
