Actors Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon are expecting a child and will tie the knot next year, their respective agencies Salt Entertainment and Studio Santa Claus Entertainment said on Tuesday. “The two have been dating since 2017,” said Salt Entertainment in an official statement.

배우 박신혜와 최태준이 아이를 가졌고 내년 1월 결혼할 예정이라고 각자 소속사가 23일 밝혔다. “이 둘은 2017년부터 만남을 이어오고 있었다”고 솔트 엔터테인먼트가 공식 입장을 발표했다.

“The wedding will take place at an undisclosed location in Seoul on Jan. 22 next year. While they were preparing for the wedding, they were blessed with a child [...] We would appreciate your congratulations and blessings.”

“(두 사람은) 2022년 1월 22일 서울 모처에서 부부의 연을 맺게 됐다. 결혼을 준비하는 과정 가운데 소중한 생명이 찾아왔다 […] 많은 축하와 축복 부탁드린다.”

Park and Choi’s relationship was made public in early 2018. The actors also relayed the news of their wedding and pregnancy on their respective fan websites on the same day.

두 배우는 2018년 초반에 공식 연인임을 인정했다. 두 배우는 이날 자신들의 팬카페에도 임신과 결혼 소식을 전했다.

“I am planning to marry the person whom I have been able to lean on for a long time, and who embraced my shortcomings as Park Shin-hye the human being,” wrote Park. “I’m careful to say this since it’s such an early stage, but we were blessed with a baby while discussing marriage. Although it might be sudden and surprising news, I still wanted to tell my fans first, more than anyone else,” reads part of her open letter to fans.

“긴 시간 동안 저의 버팀목이 되어 주었고 인간 박신혜의 부족한 모습들까지도 감싸 주었던 사람과 부부로서의 삶을 시작하려고 한다. 아직 너무 초반이라 말씀드리기 조심스럽지만, 결혼을 준비하는 과정에서 소중한 생명이 찾아왔다. 어느 누구보다도 여러분께 알려 드리고 싶었다” 라고 결혼 및 임신 소감을 적었다.

“There’s someone precious to me whom I’ve been sharing emotions and a meaningful relationship with,” Choi also wrote on his fan website. “I plan to tie the knot for this love, for which I am so grateful for. I’ll show myself as a responsible member of a new family, as well as Choi Tae-joon the actor."

최태준은 팬카페를 통해 “저에게 오랜 시간 여러가지 감정을 공유하며 뜻깊은 만남을 이어온 소중한 인연이 있다[…] 이제는 한 가정의 일원으로서 책임감 있는 모습을, 그리고 배우 최태준으로서 여러분의 기대에 부응할 수 있는 연기로 인사드리겠습니다.”라고 소감을 전했다.
