Rookie boy band Luminous holds its first showcase online

Rookie boy band Luminous [BARUNSON WIP]

Rookie boy band Luminous [BARUNSON WIP]

Boy band Luminous held an online showcase for its second EP “Self n Ego” on Wednesday.

It marked the rookie boy band's first showcase after its debut showcase last August was canceled due to Covid-19. The EP drops at 6 p.m. today.

The EP’s lead song is “All eyes down,” a bass trap track with an abundant use of a pad synthesizer.

According to the band, the album “contains confusion between the real self and the created self” and to express that they’ve taken the “light and darkness” concept to fit the name of the band Luminous.

Luminous consists of four members — Su-il, Steven, Young-bin and Woo-bin. It is the first K-pop act to be launched by Barunson WIP, an entertainment company founded by vocal coach Kim Sung-eun. Kim used to be a vocal coach for K-pop acts like BTS, Twice and Kang Daniel.

Like many other K-pop acts, Luminous has its own fictional universe, where all members symbolize different elements. Su-il represents thunder, Seven represents fire, Young-bin represents light and Woobin represents moonlight.
