JYP Entertainment on Wednesday released the name of its highly-anticipated new girl group — Nmixx — which is expected to debut in February.

The exact date of the group’s debut has not yet been specified by the agency.

Pronounced N Mix, the letter 'N' means now, new, next and an unknown variable “n,” according to JYP Entertainment. “MIXX” symbolizes a combination of all the different meanings of “n” to create a new unified result.

Along with the name, the agency also revealed a short video clip of the group on its social media, displaying different colored water drops. The caption reads, “NICE TO MIXX YOU.”

Nmixx is comprised of seven members — Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin. All members were born in Korea with the exception of Lily who was born in Australia. She is half Korean and half Australian.

Though the members have not debuted yet, they have been introduced to the public.

In July last year, the group released a debut single titled “Blind Package.” The pre-sale of the song surpassed 60,000 copies in the 10 days that the album was on sale.

From August to November last year, the agency created a YouTube channel “JYPn” and showcased the current Nmixx members singing and dancing. The channel garnered over 22.4 million views in the course of five months.

Previous girl groups who debuted through JYP Entertainment include Wonder Girls (2007), missA (2010), Twice (2015) and ITZY (2019).

JYP Entertainment is one of Korea’s top four K-pop powerhouses along with SM, YG and HYBE Entertainment.
