K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment’ upcoming girl group Nmixx postponed its debut showcase from Feb. 22 to March 1 after member Bae tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday morning.
The group’s debut EP “Ad Mare” will still be released on Feb. 22 as originally scheduled, said the agency.
According to JYP Entertainment, Bae had a sore throat since Wednesday evening and all members subsequently underwent self-testing. After Bae’s self-test came out positive, all members received PCR testing at a hospital. While only Bae tested positive, the other six members are currently in self-isolation.
Bae is receiving treatment in self-isolation and currently has a mild fever and sore throat, but no other symptoms.
The agency added that all seven members of Nmixx are fully vaccinated.
Nmixx consists of members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin. Apart from Lily who is Korean-Australian, all members are Korean.
Nmixx is pronounced N Mix. The letter 'N' means now, new, next and an unknown variable, according to JYP Entertainment while “mixx” symbolizes a combination of all the different meanings of “n” to create a new unified result.
