Regular episodes of Tving's new entertainment program "Seoul Check-In" starring singer Lee Hyo-ri will become available this spring following successful ratings of the show's pilot released late January.

“’Seoul Check-In’ will be produced as original content starting in the spring of 2022,” said streaming platform Tving in a statement on Friday. It added that the specific dates of the upcoming episodes will be announced later.

The pilot of “Seoul Check-In” topped the platform’s list of most popular shows on the day of its premier on Jan. 29.

The total number of paid Tving subscribers also tripled in the three days after the show’s release, marking “Seoul Check-In” as the show to attract the highest number of new paid memberships to the platform.

Producer Kim Tae-ho is behind the new hit show. Kim left MBC after his contract with the broadcaster officially ended on Jan. 18. During his time with the broadcaster, he produced hit variety programs such as “Infinite Challenge” and “Hangout with Yoo."

The first episode of “Seoul Check-In” included behind-the-scene clips of Lee rehearsing with dancers from Mnet’s dance survival program “Street Woman Fighter” for their special collaboration stage in the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

It also contained footages of Lee during her time off work as she had sleepovers with singer Uhm Jung-hwa, shopped at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, western Seoul, and had brunch with celebrities Uhm, Hwasa of Mamamoo, BoA and Kim Wan-sun at a restaurant in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.

“Seoul Check-in” is a reality show centered on Lee’s stay in the capitol as she revisits her career as one of the country’s hottest divas and enjoys city life.

Lee moved to Jeju Island over nine years ago with her husband and singer-songwriter Lee Sang-soon who she married in 2013.

The show stands in contrast to Lee’s last reality program, “Hyori’s Homestay” (June 2017-May 2018), which was about her rustic life on Jeju Island.

However, like "Hyori's Homestay," “Seoul Check-In” still aims to show the authentic, candid side to Lee that has made her increasingly popular as a reality television star.

Tving is a Korean streaming platform operated by Tving Corporation, a joint venture of CJ E&M, Naver and JTBC. It offers various drama series, entertainment programs and movies.

The platform is currently only available in Korea.
