Loona's Chuu won't participate in upcoming concerts due to health

Chuu from K-pop girl group Loona won’t be attending the upcoming concerts “Loonaverse: From,” which are set to take place on Feb. 11 and 12, due to health reasons.

Loona’s agency, Blockberry Creative announced Feb. 8 that it has decided that Chuu should rest, “judging that health is the number one priority. We have made this decision after discussing with Chuu and all the other members. We’ll make sure to help Chuu to focus on her condition and get better soon.”

The agency asked fans to please encourage Chuu and to cheer her on.

The upcoming concert is Loona’s first in-person concert in three years. The concert venue is Jangchung Area in central Seoul. The concert will also be streamed online. Those who wish to cancel their tickets due to Chuu’s absence can do so without any cancellation fees until 3 p.m. on Feb. 10 through ticketing sites, the agency added.

It is not revealed what kind of health issues Chuu is suffering from. Chuu has been under immense stress since last year when a netizen accused her of school bullying, and then withdrew her claim shortly after saying that her “memory has been altered and dramatized” and that she got “scared after reading so many comments on my post and the post getting so much attention.”

Loona is a 12-member group consisting of Haseul, Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Kim Lip, Chuu, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye and Yeojin. It debuted in 2018 and is known for hits "Hi High" (2018), "Why Not?" (2020) and "PTT (Paint The Town)" (2021).

The girl group made its official debut in Japan in September last year.
