Esom, Ong Seong-wu, Shim Eun-kyung to star in upcoming romance movie

Actors Esom, Ong Seong-wu and Shim Eun-kyung will star as leads in upcoming romance movie “Starlight is Falling” (translated), according to production company The Lamp on Friday.

Directed by Choi Kook-hee known for films “Default” (2018) and “Life Is Beautiful” (2020), filming for “Starlight is Falling” will start in April.

The film is set on a college campus in 1993. Esom and Shim will play college students who share the same name, Lee Hyun-jung, and Ong a college freshman named Choi Kyung-soo, whom the two Lees become interested in.

Esom debuted as a fashion model in 2008 and started her acting career through the 2010 film “Second Half.”

Shim debuted in 2003 via MBC’s historical drama “Daejanggeum” (2003-4).

Ong originally debuted as a singer in 2017, as a member of boy band Wanna One formed by season two of Mnet’s hit idol audition show “Produce 101” (2017).
