Mnet reveals six contestants for 'Queendom 2'

The contestants of Mnet’s survival program "Queendom 2” will be Brave Girls, Viviz, WJSN, Loona, Kep1er and Hyolyn, according to CJ ENM on Monday.
The show sees six high-profile female K-pop acts compete by each releasing a new song on the same day. In the first season of "Queendom" (2019), the winner was awarded with a solo comeback show on Mnet.
Brave Girls debuted in 2011 and is best known for its song “Rollin’” (2017), a late bloomer hit which topped the charts four years after its release. It has four members: Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna.
Viviz is comprised of members SinB, Eunha and Umji who were formerly part of girl group GFriend. After GFriend disbanded in May 2021, the three members re-debuted as Viviz in on Feb. 9 with the EP “Beam Of Prism.”
WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, debuted in 2016 with its EP “Would You Like?” and has released hits “I Wish” (2017) and “As You Wish” (2019). The 13-member girl group consists of Exy, Seola, Xuan Yi, Bona, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi, Yeoreum, Dayoung and Yeonjung.
Loona is a 12-member group consisting of Haseul, Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Kim Lip, Chuu, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye and Yeojin. It debuted in 2018 and is known for hits "Hi High" (2018), "Why Not?" (2020) and "PTT (Paint The Town)" (2021).
Kep1er is a rookie girl group which debuted on Jan. 3 with its EP “First Impact” and lead track “Wa Da Da.” The EP set a new record for highest first-week sales for a K-pop girl group’s debut album. The group consists of nine finalists of Mnet’s multinational idol audition show “Girls Planet 999” (2021): Yujin, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Youngeun, Yeseo, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Hikaru and Huening Bahiyyih.
Hyolyn is a solo act known to be a talented vocalist. She was once a member of girl group Sistar, which was active from 2010 to 2017. Hyolyn dropped her latest digital single “Layin' Low” in January.
“All six artists have each topped music programs and are iconic K-pop artists,” said the producers of “Queendom 2.” “We expect they will each show their uniqueness and the best stage performances.”
Taeyeon of girl group Girls’ Generation will be the show’s host.
"Queendom 2”will air every Thursday at 9:20 p.m. for 10 weeks from March 31.
