Disney+ has 12 new pieces of Korean original content in store for this year, the streaming platform said Thursday.

A new variety show, starring entertainer Yu Jae-seok, actor Lee Kwang-soo and Yuri of girl group Girls’ Generation, is set to premiere sometime later this year. Titled "The Zone: Survival Mission," it will be about trying to survive in a strange virtual world by completing missions.

Apart from the 12 pieces of original content, Disney+ will add some 20 Korean shows or films to the platform as well.

TvN’s upcoming drama series “Big Mouth,” starring actor Lee Jong-suk and Yoona of Girls’ Generation is also included in the lineup. It is about a struggling lawyer who suddenly gets caught up in a murder case.

“Soundtrack #1,” a Disney+ original starring actors Han So-hee and Park Hyung-sik, is slated to premiere this month. Other Disney+ originals include “Moving," a drama series adaptation of the famous webtoon created by cartoonist Kang Full, and “King of Savvy,” also a drama which will star actor Choi Min-sik. It is Choi’s first time to return to the small screen in 24 years.

Last year Disney+ launched the spinoff of SBS’s long-running variety show “Running Man” (2010-), which was called “Outrun by Running Man.”
