Korean Cultural Center New York announces upcoming events

The Korean Cultural Center New York announced Tuesday that it will host "K-pop Dance Night" at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York next week. 
 
The program's first event is slated to begin 7:30 p.m. on March 18 while more events are slated to be held once every month on a Friday until May. Each event is expected to last about two hours. 
 
For the program’s March event, the center said that DJ Peach will play and curate songs by hit girl groups Blackpink, ITZY, Red Velvet and Twice and singer CL in celebration of Women’s History Month.  
 
DJ Peach is a Korean music producer and DJ. She debuted as a DJ in 2019 and has since performed around the United States as well as Korea. She is currently regularly performs at one of New York City’s famous nightclubs “Mission.” DJ Peach produced her first music in 2020 and produced her first album “Sea of Lights” in June last year.

Choreographers Ari and Kianna will also be present at the event to teach audiences some of the dance moves of the K-pop songs. Ari and Kianna are twins. The duo placed second in the 2019 Cover Star K Contest. Currently, the two are part of dance crews Harmonyc Movement and Not Shy Dance Crew, and frequently upload dance covers of K-pop songs on YouTube.

The program’s events in April and May will be held under themes “BTS” and “Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.”  
 
The upcoming dance night follows last year’s “K-pop Disco Fever” which was also co-hosted by Korean Cultural Center New York and the Lincoln Center.
