The Pinkfong Company behind the hit children’s song “Baby Shark Dance” (2016) made the Time magazine’s list of “100 Most Influential Companies of 2022.” It and HYBE are the only Korean companies to make this year's list.

The magazine explained that the company was selected for its achievements in content which quickly adapted to the fast-paced global market in digital platforms.

The animated choreography video for “Baby Shark Dance” became the first YouTube video to exceed 10 billion views. Its subscribers for the company’s English-language YouTube channel surpassed 50 million.

“Paramount announced in February that a feature-length Baby Shark movie is in the works, and an animated series for preschoolers that launched on Nickelodeon last spring is now headed into Season 2,” Time wrote. “The company has also started selling Baby Shark NFTs [nonfungible tokens], expanding its merchandising efforts into the digital realm.”

“Since our company was established in 2010, Pinkfong and the intellectual property [IP] of Baby Shark have been sweeping records in the global content industry, and it is an honor to be recognized as one of the ‘100 Most Influential Companies of 2022,’” said Kim Min-seok, CEO of The Pinkfong Company. "As a global family entertainment company, The Pinkfong Company will continue to offer exceptional content experiences to audiences across continents, platforms and industries worldwide."
